(Saturday, August 1, 1936) — “These Foolish Things (Remind Me of You)” by Benny Goodman and his Orchestra (vocal refrain by Helen Ward) peaked at #1 on today’s Your Hit Parade weekly music chart for two consecutive weeks (August 1/8, 1936).

It was Goodman’s third of seven number one hits on the chart (1936-1940), although he would go on to have another number one hit on Billboard‘s Best Selling Singles chart in 1943.
